We have now taken a look at how messaging can be used to decouple our application, to create a workload buffer, or to offload requests from other services. We took a look at the details of the SQS and saw how we can manage queues, create and read messages, and delete them, and we learned about the visibility timeout. We also learned about the performance of the two types of queues and the limitations of the SQS itself. We also discussed security via encryption, access control, and VPC endpoints. In the next chapter, we will be introducing ourselves to SNS to distribute one message to multiple consumers at the same time.
