They guide you through each approach in a fun and enjoyable way making it easy to learn from at your own pace. This is the book I wish I had when I started working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud. SFMC is a platform with difficult access, and finding clear and concise content about the activities that make up its two main automation tools is difficult.Greg and Jason make an effort to explain everything in a simple way, without using the Salesforce language that we are used to, which makes it much easier to understand. Just like that, they helped me to close many gaps that I had from working, studying for certifications and experience with clients, on how Automation Studio and Journey Builder work, and most importantly, that it is not about choosing one over the other (as I have heard countless times), but choose both to reap the benefits of each within your solution.The book is divided into two main parts, the first helps you to generate a mindset based on automation, and the second to generate practical examples with the help of the tools and languages ​​that you have available in SFMC.It sounds easy to skip the first section, but really understanding how the theory behind automation works, the value of context and what lies behind the best practices, has allowed me to see with different eyes the projects that I carry out with my clients, to understand that the most complex solution is not always the best, that what works well for many may not be the perfect option for your problem and that skipping the understanding and construction of your solution will only bring a fatal outcome for your budget, time and dedication.In my case, the second part is the one that gives me the most headaches because I'm not a developer, but it helps me understand the concepts and logic of how things like APIs, SDKs, webhooks and microservices work. The book has a Github repository that accompanies the lessons so that you can follow the exercises by the authors and they don't just show you how to do things, but also explain why they are the way they are and how to solve it.If it is your first time using SFMC you will see an indispensable value that you will not find in the SF help documents and will take you lots of time to get up to speed. If you already have time using the tool, you will feel reflected in a lot of moments, aha moments and thoughts like "damn, how come I didn't think that when we worked on the solution for _____". It is a must buy if you work or will work with the platform, and I've recommended it to all my colleagues.

If Salesforce Marketing Cloud was a college level course this would be the required book to accompany such a course. Foundational and very resourceful for the novice to experienced. I have been unable to find such a polished piece of material and highly recommend it for anyone interested in working in marketing technology. I would like to note for those that are experienced 70% of this book should be known fact. The reaming 30% covers undocumented assumptions of mine and provides a deeper dive into getting the most out of Marketing Cloud. I would say Automating Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a great 1st edition and welcome more books like this from the authors.

So far, the best SFMC book (and potentially the most comprehensive source of wisdom on this topic). It covers everything starting from basics and ending with some insights and best practices that you won't find anywhere else. Suitable for beginners but technically experienced people would benefit from reading even more.
