Summary

This chapter explained the process of creating a final PDF with the functionality needed for online viewing. We stepped through the PDFMaker settings to understand how the construction of a Word document gives choices that users may select for inclusion on export. We also compared how using different methods to convert a file to a .pdf file will give different results.

This should be the final output for a publication. Nothing is final in the digital world, though, and all too often we must fix or modify a document after the final version is created.

Fortunately, Acrobat Pro and Standard provide a wide range of editing tools. In the next chapter, we will explore how fixes and updates can be applied to content in a PDF publication.
