Unmasking paths to a storage device

It is possible to unmask paths to a storage device. Deleting the claim rules and unclaiming the paths from the MASK_PATH plugin achieves this. The following procedure will help you to unmask paths to a storage device:

  1. SSH into the ESXi host.
  2. Identify the claim rule corresponding to the device. The claim rules on the host can be listed by using the following command syntax:
esxcli storage core claimrule list
