What is a logo?
Essentially, a logo is a symbol consisting of text and/or images, used to identify a brand. In addition, a logo can help distinguish a business from other competitors, explain what the business does, and communicate the overall value of the goods or services offered. In the next two subsections, we’ll explore the elements of a logo and the different main types.
Exploring the elements of a logo
Now that we understand what a logo is, let’s dive further into the elements that make up a logo.
Logos consist of the following elements:
- Typography: A great number of logos contain some form of typographic element such as a monogram abbreviation or the full name of the business.
