Using the iSAX Python package
In this section, we are going to use the isax
Python package to develop practical command-line utilities. But first, we are going to learn how to read the iSAX parameters from the users.
Reading the iSAX parameters
This subsection illustrates how to read the iSAX parameters, including the filenames with the time series, and how to give default values to some of them. Although we saw relevant code in Chapter 2, this time, the process is explained in more detail. Additionally, the code is also going to show how we use these input parameters to set up the relevant variables located inside the ./isax/variables.py
file. As a reminder, variables stored in ./isax/variables.py
, or other similar files – it just happens that we are using ./isax/variables.py
– are accessible from anywhere in our code as long as we have successfully imported the relevant file.
What we need to create an iSAX index
As a reminder, to create an iSAX index, we...
