Making the pieces
There are many kinds of 3D puzzles out there, and by using the skills you’ve gained in this book you can strive to make a unique creation of your own! In this chapter, we will be designing a 3D puzzle that has five pieces, and one that is designed to not only be engaging to use but also well suited for manufacturing using 3D printing techniques. To get started, we need to create the pieces for the puzzle through the following steps:
- We are first going to start by adding a Box shape to our design that is the overall size of our puzzle. You can make this puzzle as big or as small as you like, but I’ve chosen to model mine to be 100 mm in length, width, and height, as shown in Figure 18.1:
