Summary
In this chapter, we again learned about bots, but on an advanced level. We can now appreciate the difference between these types of bots and our beloved assistant Slackbot and know how to set up and create our very own version. We were introduced to existing frameworks to avoid the ultimate code creation and know the importance of testing our bots before we push them live into our workspaces. Now that we have an appreciation for both the basic and advanced levels of learning what Slack has to offer, it's time to learn how to spot when the right moments are to utilize each.
In the next chapter, we'll learn how to identify when it's best to buy or build your bots. We know the difference between Slackbot and a regular bot and how to build our own. Yet, in some instances, for the not-so-technically-inclined, it may make more sense to purchase a pre-designed bot or completely outsource some of the more labor-intensive and detailed work.
