Organize the SOA effort
In the following figure, the steps needed in your organization to create an SOA that realizes the goals of your organization are described. As you can see, this is a process that ends either because there is no (longer a) positive business, or because you have finished with all the features on the roadmap.
Let's look into the steps in more detail:
Identify goals and approach: There is a strategy or business goal associated with why a company wants to start with SOA. It is very important to make this explicit, so you can base your business case and solution design on the right facts. These goals are also important during the realization. They guard the whole process; to make sure that the SOA will actually satisfy the needs of the business.
