The Adobe Substance 3D Designer EXPLORER window
You manage your open files and resources in Substance 3D Designer via the EXPLORER window or panel. It presents you with a list of all open packages, each of which is extended to reveal its resources as a hierarchy.
You begin and end projects in EXPLORER because it enables you to create, store, and export any type of resource.
Let’s look at some significant operations you may perform using the EXPLORER window.
Creating and closing a new package
Packages are like folders that hold various resources such as graphs, bitmaps, 3D meshes, and so on. Let us see how we can create and close a package:
- To create a new package, go to the main File menu and hover over the New option; you will see a bunch of graph options (which we will cover in the next part). From these options, choose Empty package, as shown in Figure 7.7. You can also create new packages with a right-click in the EXPLORER window.
