Search aliases


We have just spent a while discussing how to choose the best keywords and then how to use them. In a later section about writing articles, we will discuss density and formatting as well. In this brief but potentially profitable section, we will look at choosing and defining, through the PrestaShop system, some search aliases.

So if you remember the "laptop, notebook, or portable PC" conundrum, you can actually tell PrestaShop that they are the same thing. They are aliases. So when visitors use your PrestaShop search box, it wouldn't matter if they searched for laptops, notebooks, or anything else that meant the same thing. As long as you defined it, PrestaShop will return the right search results.

Choosing aliases

The previous laptop example is fairly obvious. If you sell a laptop and somebody on your site searches for "notebook", you want them to see your laptop. But when choosing your aliases, you should think as deeply as possible. Look at the category and product descriptions...
