Generating interfaces from data models or diagrams
Another often overlooked feature of ODI is its ability to generate interfaces from either data models or model diagrams. By selecting one or more data stores from a data model or diagram, ODI can create either an inbound or outbound interface capable of moving data in or out of the specified data store.
Getting ready
In this recipe, we will generate three such interfaces and compare the results. To follow along with the examples listed here, you will need an ODI project with at least the following KMs: LKM SQL to SQL, IKM SQL Control Append, and IKM Oracle Incremental Update. From a resource perspective, you will need to have imported the DEMO_SRC
and DEMO_TRG
data models as described in the Preface.
How to do it...
To create the first two examples, expand and right-click on the DEMO_TRG data model and select the Generate Interfaces IN option.
Use the browse magnifying-glass to select the folder into which the procedure will be generated....
