Summary
In this chapter on creating images for social media, we first outlined the challenges involved in creating content for multiple platforms and different sizes for each type of graphic depending on their use. To compound the issue, the nature of social media often requires us to respond quickly to evolving events so that we can capitalize on public engagement.
To meet this challenge, we looked at features built into Photoshop that deliver high-quality imagery with short project timescales while managing dozens of images with identical content that is subject to constant changes. First, artboards allow us to create a single document with multiple pages, where assets are just a click away and easy to duplicate.
We also looked at infusing brand colors into layers such as logos to provide flexibility and maintain legibility. By applying multiple layer effects, such as color overlays, we can simply turn on or off a specific color. We also applied gradient overlays to background...
