Summary

In this chapter, you built a file geodatabase schema while working with three primary components of a geodatabase: feature classes, feature datasets, and nonspatial tables. In addition to this, you explored different ways to add initial data to your file geodatabase. You also learned that spatial reference is an important property of the standalone feature classes and feature datasets.

In the second part of this chapter, you learned how to document your geodatabase using two metadata standards: the international standard, ISO19139, and the European standard INSPIRE.

In the next chapter, you will learn how to create map symbology for our World.gdb file geodatabase using symbols and labels in the ArcMap application.
