Summary

Chapter 13 was meant to introduce you to the topic of Azure Monitor and its basic capabilities. We talked about the different kinds of logs that are available, the different types of services that integrate with Azure Monitor, and the methods for triggering an alert. The features that are available in Azure Monitor are not limited to the topics we covered here – it offers much more advanced uses, including methods for visualizing data and AIOps, which can simplify how logs are managed and automate your work.

Understanding how logs are stored and processed in Azure is important from the perspective of the Azure administrator because, eventually, your system will have to generate data, and you will have to analyze it. Having a reliable monitoring solution is critical for production environments where finding a root cause quickly can stop your organization from losing money.
