The creative process is over. Okay, that’s a bit of a grand statement, but it’s time to turn our attention to making changes to our video master copy, to make it suitable for different export locations. We’ve looked at making your video coherent, concise, and bursting with extra context, meaning, and your own unique style. We’ve made it sound good, and we’ve added extra effects to engage our audience. But as good as our video is, it won’t be one-size-fits-all.

In earlier chapters, we briefly touched on the idea of aspect ratio, which is the relationship between the height and length of a frame. Screens are changing all the time, and content is increasingly being made specifically for portrait phone screens. Unfortunately, iMovie only allows the default 16:9 widescreen, which won’t be the right shape for some destinations for your video.
