Continuously delivering to production using CodePipeline

Now that we are continuously deploying into a non-production environment, the final step in our continuous delivery journey is to enable the ability to deploy application releases into production in a controlled fashion. CodePipeline supports this capability by leveraging a useful feature of CloudFormation, called change sets. A change set describes the various configuration changes that will be applied to a given CloudFormation stack, based on any changes that may have been applied to your stack template file and/or input parameters. For new application releases, you are typically only changing an input parameter that defines the version of your new application artifact(s).
