Customizing and reordering menus
In this recipe, we will explore ways to customize menus in InDesign, including hiding items in the menus, highlighting items in the menus, and even sorting menus alphabetically to make finding items easier.
If you are new to InDesign, it can be especially useful to highlight menu items or quickly sort menus alphabetically in order to find what you are looking for. In general, I would advise against hiding menu items, as it is very easy to forget that you have done this as the months go by and then one day, you might need that option, which can’t now be found. Having said that, other people may hide items that you need to access, so it is good to know how and where to do this.
Getting ready
