Summary

The print and prepress tools in InDesign provide designers and print professionals with essential features to prepare documents for high-quality printing, offering precise control over layout, color accuracy, and output settings for various printing processes, resulting in superior print quality. In this chapter, we tackled a range of tasks to ensure professional-quality print output. We set up documents with appropriate print specifications and leveraged InDesign’s scripting capabilities to create personalized variable data printed materials. To guarantee accuracy, we preflighted documents, identifying and resolving any potential issues. Finally, we previewed color separations and created print-ready standards-based PDF/X files that adhere to industry standards. In the next chapter, we will look at how to create interactive documents for on-screen deployment and artificial intelligence in InDesign.
