Asset Intelligence synchronization point
The Asset Intelligence synchronization point is a component that rarely arises as a problematic role. The footprint is really quite light, and indeed in a worst case scenario it is no great chore to actually uninstall and reinstall. That said, however, we should know what makes up the Asset Intelligence synchronization point in order to be able to perform some basic troubleshooting before we get to the uninstall stage. The components that make up the component are minimal; we will find a folder located on the relevant server by default in %Program Files%\AIUS
. Within that folder we will find just two files:
AIUpdateSVC.exe
AIUpdateSVC.exe.config
The .exe
file is the actual service that represents the synchronization point, and the .config
file is, of course, the configuration file for the service. This service is also represented as a Windows service named AI_UPDATE_SERVICE_POINT
, which can be stopped and restarted at will from the Configuration Manager...
