The multiresolution modifier
In this section, we will be looking at the Multiresolution (Multires) modifier and how it can be used to increase the geometry of our mesh. The reason we need to increase the amount of geometry is that we will be adding finer details to our mesh using sculpting brushes, but more on sculpting later in this chapter under the Sculpting finer details onto our mushroom section:
- Let's go back to the main layout by clicking the Layout tab at the top of the interface.
- With your object selected in the 3D Viewport, click the Modifier Properties field in the side panel to bring up the Modifier Properties panel.
- Click Add Modifier and select Multiresolution under the Generate column.
