Lync topology planning


Microsoft provides several tools to help in planning and designing the Lync Server environment. The Lync Server Planning Tool can be used by IT teams and Lync architects to answer topology-related questions such as how many Enterprise Voice users are needed, whether Lync needs to be integrated as a high-availability solution or features like Federation, mobile access, reporting, and monitoring are required. This Planning Tool features a question and answer type graphical interface which gathers information about your setup to generate a reference topology according to the Lync Server guidelines and best practices for you. It is also possible to generate several deployment options that you can use to make your final topology design decision.
