Overview of AC and DC Motors

Electric motors are generally used to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. Mechanical energy can be used to move an electric car, rotate a fan, and so on. An electric motor can be referred to as an actuator that converts electricity into motion. Hence, it is an electric actuator. Electric motors are very common in our homes. You will find them in most appliances, such as ceiling fans, standing fans, washing machines, microwaves, electric blenders, electric can openers, toys, and so on.
