Polishing your game


Well, we've filed and buffed our game to shape it into a masterpiece, it's now time to add some shine. To make our gem shine, we need to polish it up with a few things to make it work better, as well as ensure that it will work as we want it to. By now, you should have already tested it (more than once), so you will have a few ideas about what needs to be improved, such as lag. In the following sections, we will explore ways to optimize various parts of the game so that by the time you publish it, you will have something that runs smoothly and effectively.

Processing the power

One thing that you will want to make sure to do before you really get stuck into the development of your game is to determine whether or not it is optimized for the device(s) that you are targeting it towards. Often optimization is seen as the last step in game development, but it is not true. The sooner you consider optimization in your development workflow, the less the effort required later on...
