Exploring DuckDB’s R API
In this chapter, we’ll be taking a close look at another DuckDB client API; this time for the R programming language. R is a programming language that’s designed for statistical computing and graphically representing data. It is used by many scientists and data practitioners, including data scientists, statisticians, and data analysts. It’s well-suited for performing data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization, as well as developing statistical software. DuckDB provides a feature-rich package for working with DuckDB databases in R: https://r.duckdb.org.
R benefits from a rich array of built-in data processing features and a rich ecosystem of data libraries. Experienced R users may wonder why they might want to add another R package to their toolbox. DuckDB enables you to scale your analytical data workflows further – you can run complex analytical operations efficiently and process much larger datasets than...
