Have a go hero – adding more AVPs to the auth request

Try some of these tasks as a further challenge:

  • The number of AVPs received by FreeRADIUS is fewer when we use radclient instead of radtest. See if you can add those missing ones to the standard input for the radclient.
  • Radtest also offers the option to read AVPs from a file. Create a file with the required AVPs and use it with radclient. Use the Packet-Type attribute in the file to specify the packet type inside the file.
  • If you use the Packet-Type inside a file remember the following important points:
    • Specify the packet type as auto on the command line.
    • The Packet-Type value is the numeric of the RADIUS packet code. This means that an Access-Request packet will have a value of 1.
    • You also need to specify an AVP for the destination port. Failing to do so will cause it not to be sent. Access-Request requires the following entry. Packet-Dst-Port=1812.
