This section focuses on advanced data modeling techniques that you may not deal with on a daily basis but are extremely important to know about.

Implementing parent-child hierarchies, dealing with different calculations in a hierarchy, using aggregations, along with the more advanced business requirements to be implemented in a data model are all covered in this section. You need to have a deep understanding of the star schema and DAX, the latter of which we’ll cover some new functions for.
