Benefits of blue/green deployments with AWS

The use of blue/green deployment strategies provides multiple benefits over in-place deployments. It is important to note that although these benefits are substantial, there are extra costs for the additional environments that are created during the blue/green process. The secondary environments may be taken down after the deployment has been validated or, in the case of a failed deployment, after a rollback has been completed.
