Summary
In this chapter, we went through SketchUp’s capabilities and identified exactly what it will do, specific to the 3D print modeling process. This should be a great help if you have any confusion about what version you are currently using or if you are considering upgrading in the future.
After that, we looked at the three different versions of SketchUp that are available and walked through some of the steps you should go through to get ready to create print-ready models. This sets us up to start modeling together after we cover a few more basic concepts.
Up next, let’s take a look at how to get files for printing in and out of SketchUp in Chapter 3, Importing and Exporting .stl Files.
