Management changes in SDDC
I stated earlier that the very thing you manage has changed. SDDC changes the architecture of data centers, turning operation as usual from best practice to dated practice. The following table explains the operations in more detail so that we can see the impact on a specific discipline:

This is actually a brand new discipline in itself. As you will see in Chapter 4, Performance Monitoring, it is not what you think it is. This gets harder as the performance of ESXi, VM, and datastores can impact one another. The entire environment is no longer static. VM activities such as vMotion, Storage vMotion, provisioning, and power on also add to the workload. So, there is VM workload and infrastructure workload. Performance issues can originate from any component. Troubleshooting something that is dynamic is difficult.
