Understanding text messages
Text messages work by sending data to and from the phone number of a smartphone. That means you can't send or receive text messages to or from a landline telephone that requires a cable plugged into the wall.
Important Note
Do not send or read text messages while performing other actions such as driving or walking. Text messages can distract you from seeing obstacles and dangers around you, jeopardizing your own life as well as the lives of others. If you must send or read text messages, make sure you only do so from a safe location where you aren't driving or won't walk into obstacles such as walls or other people, and where you won't pose an obstacle to others.
