Understanding the Dashboard layout


The Dashboard layout provides the ability to add objects from the report similar to a Report section, where objects can be dragged-and-dropped and resized on the interface. Objects can be added to any area of the dashboard, providing the ability to create a custom layout of objects.

Editing the dashboard

A new dashboard by default is set with the Design Mode active, which turns the dashboard from an active to a passive state so that the dashboard can be modified. When the dashboard is in design mode, the Elements window displays the objects that can be added to the section, the Dashboard controls display the control name, and all objects on the dashboard can be edited and rearranged. When the Design Mode setting is toggled off, the Dashboard objects become active, the Elements window is blank, and the objects on the dashboard display the desired content. Design Mode can be toggled on and off using one of the following three methods:
