B2C Commerce capabilities

The primary difference between B2C Commerce and the Salesforce B2B Commerce product are related to the capabilities of each. The B2C Commerce product, which is the focus of this chapter, supports extremely high-volume transactional selling including guest channels. The B2C product also supports much more robust campaigns and promotions as well as personalized recommendations with Commerce Cloud Einstein.

The B2B product, however, supports robust tiered account structures, customizable product pricing, and a more flexible user experience layer. The B2B product also benefits from being built on the core Lightning Platform, so it shares a common data model with products like Service Cloud.

B2C Commerce is not intended to be the system of record for order data long term, it’s intended to take the order and export it to an Order Management System (OMS) for allocation, fulfillment, tracking, and support. B2C Commerce is also not an appropriate solution for primary...
