Detaching a prezi from your online Prezi account

All prezis in your main overview window in Prezi for Windows/Mac will be synced as soon as you click on the Refresh button.

Sometimes, this is not what you want, maybe because a prezi is your specific version of a more generic presentation. Or there may be an online prezi that you decide to not store online any longer for security reasons.

If you need to store a prezi on your computer only, and it is not to be synced with your online account, we recommend downloading the prezi and saving it as a prezi file. This file format is called pez.

How to do it…

Creating a .pez file in Prezi for Windows/Mac is easy:

  1. Hover over the lines icon on the top-right corner of the prezi's thumbnail.
  2. Choose Export to prezi file (.pez).
  3. Pick a location in your filesystem for the prezi to be stored.

  4. Later, when you are working in Prezi for Windows/Mac and need to access your .pez file, use the Import a prezi command that is located just below the list of folders...
