Creating Alias tables
In this recipe, we will create an Alias set or table to give more descriptive names to the members in the outline. In a business environment, it is common for the same functions to have different names depending on the recipient of the information. Version 11.1.2.1 now supports 32 alias tables, or 32 different ways of naming the same member. This is, of course, far more than the average application needs, but it gives you a lot of flexibility for reporting purposes.
Getting ready
To get started, click on the Start menu and navigate to Programs | Oracle EPM System | Essbase | Essbase Studio. Log in to Essbase Studio using your server, username, and password.
