Chapter 4. Assigning Grades
In the previous chapter we added two assignments, one using a scale and one making use of outcomes. We also created a rubric for advanced grading before finally adding a graded item directly into the gradebook.
Once the graded activities are added to a Moodle course, we need to award grades to the students. Some of the activities are graded by Moodle, such as quizzes and some elements of lessons, but those with a lot of written content need to be reviewed and graded by the teacher.
In this chapter, we will look at different ways of grading work, in particular assignments, that have been set up with different types of grades. We will see how to:
Grade assignments with number grades, scales, outcomes, and rubrics
View electronically submitted assignments
Add written feedback
Use quick grading directly within the gradebook
