Organize your course
The main tools for organizing a course in Moodle are sections and labels. In this section, we'll look at how to use them, and how to move material around on the course page.
Name your topics
In a course that uses the topics format, your topics are automatically named and numbered, like this:
This works well if you want your topics to be automatically numbered. If you rearrange the topics, the numbering will automatically be updated.
Instead of using the default topic numbering, you might want to name your topics, and add a description to them, like this:
To add a name and description to a Topic:
Log in to your course as a teacher or a site administrator.
In the upper right corner of the page, if you see a button that reads, Turn editing on, click the button. If it reads Turn editing off, then you do not need to click this button.
Next to the topic's number, click the Edit summary button:
The Summary page for your Topic is displayed. You must un-check the check box for Use default...
