Understanding tape management tasks
This recipe will cover standard tape management tasks for a DPM server environment.
As a DPM administrator, you are responsible for tape management tasks that could result in very negative scenarios if neglected.
Within the DPM console, you can perform all the tape management tasks that are associated with your responsibility.
The following list presents all the tape management tasks in DPM that you should perform:
- Add or remove tapes
- Inventory tapes
- Mark a tape as free
- Identify an unknown tape
- Re-catalog an imported tape
- View tape contents
