Real-world scenarios

In this section of the chapter, we will be looking at some common troubleshooting scenarios and using all the methods that we have learned to help us diagnose and debug the errors.

Troubleshooting content distribution errors

In order to troubleshoot content distribution errors, a number of logfiles exist, and tools might be required in order to determine where the problem is. For example, if you are having issues distributing content, then you will need to look at a number of logfiles and also use the DP job manager tool from the toolkit.

If we are having problems with content management on a cloud distribution point in Windows Azure, then we will need to look at a log on the site server called CloudDP-<guid>.log and replace the GUID with the unique identifier of the cloud distribution point. This log will contain information about storage and content access in the cloud-based distribution point. Additionally, CloudMgr.log will record and collect storage and bandwidth...
