Working with inventory marking


During daily business in inventory management, there are some transactions that need to be returned to the inventory at the same cost at which they were issued. Each inventory transaction is associated to a unique Lot ID. Any inventory transaction is assigned to a Lot ID with a unique identification that helps in inventory cost and inventory transaction tracking; this is used to specify the transaction's cost. The marking function can be used with Sales order to specify the cost of goods sold for the marked line in the Sales order lines, and it can be used in the issuance return (inventory addition) from the movement journal, production order, and/or bill of material (BOM) journal. The following diagram shows the relation of the inventory marking between inventory issuance and receptions:
