Adding sound effects


This is a short and sweet section where you will simply add some of the sound effects that came with your download package, and some that you downloaded yourself. This is just to give you an idea of the huge difference that adding a few simple effects can make to your projects.

Engage Thrusters

Spruce up the action with some well-timed sound effects. Perform the following steps to do so:

  1. Set the Project panel as active, and then navigate to the Audio folder. Import all the sound FX you have stored in the Audio folder on your designated video drive (those that came with the download for this book, plus any others you have collected).

  2. Move to the Timeline panel and move the Timeline indicator through the sequence until you come to where the laser is about to fire. Use the J, K, and L keys to get the exact position.

  3. Press M on the keyboard to place a marker at this position, then double-click on the marker to open it up, and give it the name Laser Beam 1.

  4. Repeat this to place...
