So far, we have learned about the tools that we can use to monitor the on-premises AD environment. Microsoft also has solutions to monitor other applications and systems. Microsoft SCOM is a great example of this. It can be used to monitor Windows applications, services, operating system, hardware, and network devices. If you have ever used a systems center product, you may already know how complex it is to configure, use, and maintain. SCOM can also monitor the health of the AD environment. It is a good tool, but I do not think it fits the purpose of monitoring modern infrastructures.
