Chapter 5
Creating Mahara groups
1 |
Anybody in the Mahara site can join an open membership group. |
2 |
By making your group publicly viewable, you are allowing people outside of the Mahara to view and access materials in your group without being logged-in. |
3 |
A group administrator can manage group members, create forums, edit and delete forum posts of other users, and edit group settings. |
Group forums
1 |
Moderators can edit or delete topics/posts in your forum. They can also answer closed topics. They should be responsible for checking that users in the forum are following some standard guidelines for behavior and encourage effective discussions. |
2 |
A sticky topic is one that stays at the top of a forum so that it is the first or one of the first that users see. |
3 |
It is best to name your forums generally. Topics should relate to a more specific issue within the forum. It should be clear in a topic subject what is being discussed. |
