Summary
We have seen lots of portlets in this chapter to achieve basic requirements of any website, and learned about their functionality. We have covered out-of-the-box and custom portlets in this chapter. Specifically, we covered the following:
Learning about Flash Portlet to play any flash file.
Playing videos from YouTube in the Neighborhood site.
Organizing various images from Image Gallery to present them as a slide show.
Overview of out-of-the-box chat functionality provided by Liferay, and demonstrations on how users can chat among themselves.
Widgets integration in the Neighborhood site.
Some out-of-the-box portlets like Bookmark and Language.
Search functionality provided by Liferay. We have explored Search Portlet to perform site-wide search and Web Content Search to search within Web Content only.
