Enabling SSO with SAML
If your organization uses SAML for SSO, you can also configure Jira to participate in the SAML session so that your users will not need to log in to Jira every time they try to access the application. Also, if you have configured your SAML identity provider (IdP) with two-factor authentication (2FA) for additional security, Jira gets that benefit as well.
The one pre-requisite for enabling SAML SSO with Jira is that you must run Jira on Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS). If you have not configured your Jira setup to do so, please refer to Chapter 1, Getting Started with Jira Data Center, for details.
To enable SAML SSO with Jira, proceed as follows:
- Browse to the Jira administration console.
