Playing "connect the dots" with Number Nodes
In this recipe we will create a simple "connect the dots" template using the Number Nodes extension.
How to do it...
The following steps will demonstrate how to create a "connect the dots" template:
1. Select the Star tool (Shift + F9 or *). Create a complex star with five rounded corners, remove its fill and set stroke to Black and stroke width to 2.
2. Convert the star to a path (Shift + Ctrl + C).
3. Increase the number of nodes in the path by selecting the Node tool (F2 or N), selecting all the nodes (Ctrl + A), and pressing Insert several times.
4. Open the Number Nodes dialog by going to Extensions | Visualize Path | Number Nodes.... Set Font size to 24 and Dot size to 10 px.
5. Tick Live preview to see what the effect would look like when applied. If the font or dots sizes aren't nice, then edit them directly in the boxes and press Enter. The drawing will be updated automatically.
