Chapter 8: SSIS Migration Strategies

Many enterprises are in the process of migrating some of their on-premises SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) solutions to the Azure cloud these days. There are lots of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) to migrate and the cloud can represent a challenge on that front.

There are two basic strategies to migrate SSIS packages to Azure: run them as they are or re-write them. We'll explore both options in this chapter.

In this chapter, we will cover the following recipes:

  • Running SSIS packages in ADF
  • Rewriting an SSIS package using ADF

By the end of this chapter, you will have an understanding of how to handle SSIS package migration to Azure.
