ASPICE
The first time I remember hearing about ASPICE was during a job interview. At that time, I hadn’t worked in the automotive industry and the term was new to me. I used my understanding of other process frameworks to answer the question. This was a phone interview with several interviewers on the other end. One of them asked if I had done a quick internet search to answer the question (which I hadn’t). I didn’t take the job with that company but ended up in the automotive industry with a different company. Now, ASPICE is part of my daily vocabulary.
ASPICE stands for Automotive Software Process Improvement Capability Determination. Wait, isn’t that ASPICD? Fortunately, the group who created it determined that using the “E” from determination is much better, so we have ASPICE.
