Changes to thick and thin client solutions

View 6 has changed the approach for certain solutions around thick and thin clients. Earlier, solutions required the usage of thick clients with Lync 2013. If you want to use Horizon View 6 and Microsoft Lync 2013 together, you can provide the solution on a thin client. This combination will enable the following features:

  • Presence
  • Instant messaging
  • Desktop sharing
  • Application sharing / PowerPoint sharing
  • Whiteboards
  • File transfers
  • Online meetings

    A couple of disadvantages associated with online meetings are as follows:

    • Communication modes for online meetings are limited by peer-to-peer communication modes. For example, if audio is not supported on the specified architecture, audio will not work in online meetings.
    • Joining online meetings from a Microsoft Outlook meeting reminder and/or meeting invitation is not supported.
  • Office integration
  • VoIP
