Setting the Time Zone

If the database will be used by a geographically distributed team, it is important to set the database time zone to avoid time problems with resource, time stamping, and logging.

To set the time zone for the database, open the Option window in the Visual SourceSafe Administrator using the Tools | Options menu command and select the Time Zone tab page.

Specify the time zone for the SourceSafe server by using the Time zone for project and file history logging combo box.

Note

The time zone should not be changed once the database is used, to avoid data loss due to overlapping time stamps.
